Upcycling, repurposing and altering preexisting items is a direct rebellion against the capitalist imperative of making more more more. Each new item made unnecessarily  extracts both earth and human resources.

We are saturated in stuff which causes untold environmental and mental pollution.

Many items we possess live short lives and are relegated to the dump or the opshop.

I choose to renovate hats found in second hand shops to give them a second, more groovy life. I apply patches that call attention to some of the simple and vital foundations of life on this planet. TREES • WATER • SOIL • RAIN are getting their time in the sun.
